Designer To-Be Review

I think out of all the PR Malaysia’s designers that I have seen on the show, I must admit that I like Jazmine’s taste in design the best. She’s got quirkiness, one of a kind styling, beautiful and most importantly WEARABILITY in her designs. They’re almost harajuku but not as anime-ish as in Japan. I get quite scared myself to try on quirky stuff…but it looks like so much fun!! And she wears what she likes on the show and all her outfit looks gorgeous. Hmm…I think I shall try to explore this bit of myself that I’m trying to suppress. Maybe in the UK I will. People don’t really mind whatever you put on. I don’t have the guts as yet to strut my stuff in Malaysia. But I must admit I go nuts over colours of my outfits in the UK. Fuchsia pink…musturdy and I’m dying to have something in prime blue! They’re almost always super unnaturally expensive in the stores and I am not about to spend a small fortune on clothes. But I think I don’t mind spending a lil bit more on something nice that I would wear. I do splurge on myself once a while…retail therapy!

I think I haven’t at all use the advantage that the UK has so many designer warehouse outlets. Almost everything there cost so much less than they would on the high streets stores. And to boot, the clothes there are from the latest season. I go there once a while but I always don’t come back with enough clothes to make the trip worth while. You see, most designer warehouse outlets are far from the cities…like in the country side somewhere cause they’re practically huge. I have to take the train and to get cheap train rides, I need another 3 willing shoppers to get group ticket prices which is, by the way, half the price of a normal train ticket. Ohh…the life of a student, always thinking about money ^_^

There’s another way to get cheap clothes…boxing day sales!! They’re unbelievable. People would camp outside stores through out the night and the stores would open around 4 a.m. and there’ll be this stampede of shoppers trying to get in the stores first. I couldn’t be arsed to camp in the bleeping cold, in the middle of winter just to shop for clothes but me and my friends did go there right after Subuh prayers! We got to the stores around 6 a.m.-ish and just started grabbing everything we can. Every bit of clothing was marked down…like, a £40 top could go right down to £5. It was too amazing! Besides all the marked down prices, the stores also have this refund policy that gets a tabik spring from me. Anything bought can be returned within 28 days from its purchase date. So that got a little to my head and I bought £80 worth of clothes from one store…so roughly one piece of clothing would cost about £6 and I would have about 13 piece of clothing to take home with me, yeay!! I got trousers, jeans, tops, cardigans at a very nice price indeed. But being me, I returned almost half the stuff that I bought because of various reasons (e.g. some can’t fit me because I didn’t bother to try them on =P). By the way, I am dubbed the queen of returning-purchased-items-as-fast-as-I-can in Bristol

Ohhh! Ramadhan is here!! Hence, I’m wishing everyone a happy happy Ramadhan and lets all grab the chance to increase our amal and good deeds in this beautiful month, insyaAllah!
